Book Reviews: Statistical Consulting by Javier Cabrera and Andrew McDougall

I came to this book in the expectation that it might have been the ideal text for a course I once taught where the aims included enabling students to apply a range of problem solving techniques in practical contexts and to give them experience of communication skills in statistical consultancy. However, on reading the book I realised that I would hesitate to recommend it to either of the two groups for whom it was written - students and statisticians who want to become involved in consulting.
