Introducing ExcelAssess for Economics Students

The background to this work was to assess large numbers of students as painlessly as possible. Several years ago David Whigham and John Houston worked on preparing sets of exam questions which were self-marking, but the ExcelAssess solution also develops Excel, business, basic quantitative and statistics skills. The article goes through the process of setting and preparing a question in ExcelAssess, creating an assessment, setting tolerance for questions, compiling the exam and planned future developments of ExcelAssess.
