Abstract: 
The proposed National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) is at last going to happen, although major activity will not happen until 2006, with the launch planned for 27 June 2006. The contract was awarded to the private educational company Tribal working with the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching at Plymouth University. The funding is £15m over 3 year and help provide support to 2000 mathematics teachers in colleges, 30000 secondary mathematics teachers and 120000 primary school mathematics teachers...
