Abstract:
MM*Stat is an electronic textbook (eBook) that is supplied on a CD. Most of the material is viewed in a web browser and content is based on the cross-platform standards HTML, Java and Javascipt. Strangely it was designed to work only on PCs and only with Internet Explorer. 12 chapters cover: 1. Basics; 2. One dimensional frequency distributions; 3. Probability Theory; 4. Combinatorics: Formulae are developed for counting permutations and combinations…; 5. Random Variables; 6. Probability distributions; 7. Sampling Theory; 8. Estimation; 9. Statistical Tests; 10. Two-dimensional frequency distributions; 11. Regression; 12. Time Series Analysis…MM*Stat published by Springer is not available anymore; it has been replaced by a multi-lingual version called: Statistics – Scientific Data Analysis Made Easy.
