Abstract: 
sigma – the centre for excellence in university-wide mathematics and statistics support – is delighted to announce the names of the winners of the sigma prizes for outstanding contributions in the field of mathematics and statistics support 2009. From a strong field of nominations, the panel awarded two personal prizes of £1000 to: Janet Robertson, Maths Learning Centre, De Montfort University; and, Chetna Patel, Maths and Statistics Help Centre, University of Sheffield. The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held at the CETL-MSOR conference in Milton Keynes on 7/8 September 2009. Both award winners will be named: sigma Outstanding Contributor 2009. The Panel would like to express its appreciation to all nominees and their nominators, and to extend its warmest congratulations to the prize winners...
