Abstract:
MathTran is a new public web service. It translates mathematical content. At present it offers only TeX-notation to image translation, but it will also offer TeX to and from MathML (and by composition of functions, MathML to image) as soon as we can find or create suitable software. MathTran was developed in 2007 with funding from JISC and The Open University. The author is the project manager (and practically everything else as well). Already MathTran is serving about 30,000 images a day, and there are some useful clients for the MathTran service. In this article, we will describe a new client, which we intend to release before this article is published. For the latest information, and to use this client, visit http://www.mathtran.org/add-ons...
